Mr. Wehrmeyer is currently working
full time developing opportunities for BP Medical Properties,
L.P. Most recently Mr. Wehrmeyer was acting general counsel
for Karta Technologies, Inc, a San Antonio based government
contracting firm specializing in amongst other things IT Services
and Healthcare. For Karta he has also served as Executive
Vice President, New Business Development and he remains legal
counsel for the Karta board. Prior to Karta, Mr. Wehrmeyer
was majority however and President of Cura Capital Corporation
(“CURA”), a small ticket medical equipment finance
company to health care providers and manufacturers nationwide.
CURA utilized a national rental, sales and distribution network
of numerous healthcare focused rental companies, existing
at the time to market its lease option portfolio. In June
of 1995, Mr. Wehrmeyer purchased a majority of CURA by leveraging,
in a securitized trust the revenue stream of the existing
lease pool. CURA was purchased from Kinetic Concepts, Inc.
(KNCI: NYSE).
Prior to the purchase of CURA, Mr. Wehrmeyer spent fourteen
years with Kinetic Concepts, Inc. (“KCI”). KCI
is a worldwide leader in the rental and sale of therapeutic
medical products. Mr. Wehrmeyer held various executive level
positions within KCI including President of the KCI Medical
Services division. KCI Medical Services utilized a direct
sales force of over 100 people in over 80 offices as well
as an extensive representative and distributor network to
rent over 50,000 pieces of medical equipment nationwide. Mr.
Wehrmeyer started with KCI in 1982 after graduating from St.
Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas.
Mr. Wehrmeyer was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and
Secretary for over ten years with KCI. Mr. Wehrmeyer has extensive
experience in merger and acquisition, property acquisition
and corporate finance and was lead inside legal counsel for
the Companies original IPO.
